There have been over 100,000 victims of clery sexual
abuse in the United States that have come forward.
The church has spent over $100 billion in legal settlements.
Said cardinal Mahoney of the Los Angeles diocese:
"We knew that you were being abused,
but you were a girl.
Had you been a boy that would have been obsene."
