There are currently four states with Christian movements to ban pain medication for mothers - GA, KA, AL, and MS. These groups maintain that since it was their god’s intent for women to suffer during childbirth as testimony of his disdain for women; women should not be denied his pain.

The Pagan “Christmas” Tree is forbidden

"Thus says the Lord, ‘Do not learn the way of the Pagan nations,

cut a tree out of the forest, and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel.

In frustration, Pope Gregory The Great declared that it was in the church’s best interest to incorporate Pagan rituals into Christianity, such as decorating eggs, the Oestara bunny, hanging wreaths, Samhain (Halloween), Yule (Christmas), May Poles, faeries (angels), etc. all of which fundamentalist Christians have been protesting for years.

“Wail, for the day of the Lord is near; it will come like destruction from the Almighty. Their infants will be dashed to pieces before theirs eyes; their houses will be looted and their wives raped. Their bows will strike down the young men; he will have no mercy on infants nor will he look with compassion on children.” (Isaiah 13:16)

Christian women came from a rib bone*
Christian women were created to be servants for males “The Lord said, ‘It is not good for the man be alone. I will make a suitable helper for him.” (Genesis 2:18) “But no suitable helper was found so the Lord caused the man to sleep and while he slept, he took one of the man’s ribs and closed up the place with flesh. Then the Lord made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, 'This is now bone of my bone, flesh of my flesh; she shall be called "woman" for she was taken out of man.'" (Genesis 2:21)

* This is one of the two facets of the proposed Christian "intelligent design" curriculum currently being lobbied for, to be taught in public schools, intended to replace current human biological science classes.

It is important to note that there are two contradicting creation stories in Genesis. In the first, Jehova is speaking with someone and concocts females and males at the same time. (Genesis 1:26 "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over [all living things]. So God created man in his own image, male and female he created them.)
In the second version, (Genesis 2:20-25) he created a female helper for the male.

“So that is what the men of the Lord did. While the girls were dancing, each man caught one and carried her off and raped her as his wife. Then they returned to their inheritance and rebuilt the towns and settled in them.” (Judges 21:1-24)

Punishment for women after childbirth
"The Lord said to Moses, 'Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, "A woman who becomes pregnant and gives birth to a son then she shall be unclean seven days; according to the days of isolation for her infirmity shall she be unclean. She must not touch anything sacred. But if she gives birth to a daughter, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her isolation, and she shall continue in the blood of her purifying threescore and six days. Then she must wait sixty-six days to be purified from her bleeding. When the days of her purification for a son or daughter are over, she is to bring the priest a year-old lamb and a young pigeon for a sin offering. In this way the priest shall forgive her and she will be clean.’” (Leviticus 12:2-8)

Married rape victims to receive death penalty
“You shall take both of them to the gate of the town and stone them to death - the girl because she was in a town and did not scream, the man because he now knows a man’s wife. You must purge the evil from among you.” (Deuteronomy 22:23)

A bride who is not a virgin shall receive death penalty
“If no proof of the girl’s virginity can be found (no cloth with blood provided by her father) she shall be brought to the door of her father’s house, there the men of her town shall stone her to death. You must purge the evil from among you.” (Deuteronomy 22:13-21)

Rape victim must marry the rapist
“If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her, he shall pay the girl’s father fifty shekels of silver. He must marry the girl for he has violated her. They may never divorce.” (Deuteronomy 22:28)

“If a man seduces a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her, he must pay the bride-price, and she shall be his wife.” (Exodus 22:16)

He said to her “Get up; Let us go.” But there was no answer. Then the man put her on his donkey and set out for home. When he reached home he took a knife and cut her limb by limb.” (Judges 19:23-29)

God sets his followers’ children on fire
“Fire came out of the presence of the Lord and consumed them, and they died before the Lord. And to Aaron (the boys’ father) and his remaining sons he said, ‘Do not let your hair become unkempt, and do not tear your clothes, or you will feel the fire of the Lord who will be angry with you and all of the community. But your relatives may mourn for those the Lord has destroyed by fire.’” (Leviticus 10:2)

"...they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their pregnant women shall be ripped open." (Hosea 13:16)
Families Against Planned Parenthood offers the following as a biblical defense for this bible quote which refers to pregnant civilians during war: "God needs to correct those who have chosen an unrighteous path."
